A day in London
On the 25th of November, we’ve visited London for the first time. We’ve been to London several times but we’ve never visited the city - only the airports. We went with our good friend Sarawut who is a excellent guide :) Thank you Sarawut for showing us so many beautiful things in one day!
We’ve started our day very early: we left Nottingham at 7.30am and arrived at London around 10.50am. The post is organised by place of visit.
London Eye
The first thing we did was buying a ticket for the underground. Then, we went to see the London Eye. It’s impressive to see such a big wheel in the middle of a city. We’ve also seen the River Thames (the London Eye is on the South Bank of the River). By the way, do you know that it is also called the Millenium Wheel and it is the largest observation wheel in the world?
Big Ben
After that, we’ve walked to the Big Ben and Westminster Palace (the Big Ben is a tower of the palace). It’s beautiful and it’s nice to see it with our own eyes. Then, it started to rain a lot! :) But that was not a problem for us. To avoid the rain, we caught the underground to the Trafalgar Square.
Trafalgar Square and The National Gallery

Trafalgar Square is very pleasing. We took some pictures and then we’ve entered into the National Gallery. There, we had the opportunity to see an exhibition of paintings from the 19th and 20th century. It was delightful to be in front of paintings by Picasso, Van Gogh, Monet, Leonardo da Vinci and so on.
Saint James Park
The next stop was the beautiful Saint James Park. As usual in the British parks, there were lots of geese, ducks, squirrels, etc. As we were starving, we had our lunch in the park, but first we had to find a place hidden from those animals. Otherwise, they would eat our lunch :)
With food in our stomach, we were able to walk again. So we’ve proceeded our visit through the park in the direction of the Buckingham Palace.
Buckingham Palace
When we arrived, the Queen was already waiting for us. We had a tea with her and we’ve discussed the current state of England. :P After that we took some pictures outside the palace. We can’t show a picture with the Queen because we forgot to take one. Shame on us :)
Now, it’s time to spend some money in Harrods. There were millions of people in the streets and inside Harrods. If you want to spend money, believe us, Harrods is a great (specially if you buy their truffles, which are more than £4000!) Anyway, we didn’t bought anything :) However, Sarawut bought some sweets.
The Natural History Museum
Our last stop was the Natural History Museum. It’s huge so we couldn’t see the whole museum. Anyway, we had the opportunity to see lots of dead animals and skeletons :) It may seem weird but it was interesting. Some of those animals are, unfortunately, extinguished (that’s not the case of the lovely Koala you see in the picture). We’ve really enjoyed it so we’ll visit it again for sure.
Outside the Museum was a pretty Christmas Fair where we could make ice skating. That’s the kind of Fair that we’ve always seen in the Christmas films, but we were not used to see it live.
At this time we were already very tired, so we decided to return to the Victoria Station to catch the coach back. We caught the 6.30pm coach that should arrive at 9.15pm in Nottingham but, as the driver couldn’t feel the breaks (seems safe, doesn’t it? :P), we had to stop for a while. We arrived around 10pm.
Already in Nottingham, a car hit the bus we caught to get back home. As you can see, with no brakes in the coach and an accident with the bus, our trip back home was very exciting :)
At the end of the day we were exhaust, but looking forward to return to London. We’ve loved to visit it and we can’t wait to see so many other things that this amazing city has to offer. If you want to propose any nice place for us to go next time, leave a comment! Thanks!
